The Sovereignty Movement, together with a number of figures in the political and public spheres, call for the application of sovereignty, thus cutting off the hope that Arab terror will result in a state built on the ruins of Israel.
The Sovereignty Movement calls on the government of Israel to respond to the murderous wave of terror attacks with the application of sovereignty, which will put an end to the hopes that propel the sails of terror.
"As long as the Arabs of Judea and Samaria believe that they can push Israel off of its Land and establish their state on Israel's ruins, they will continue to murder us as they have done for more than a hundred years. The political stuttering as well as the intention to lead some sort of political process, the purpose of which is the establishment of another Arab state in the heart of the Land, encourages the terrorists and those who send them with the sense that the pressure of increased terror will convince us to fold up and surrender our Land. The government of Israel must take steps that will put an end to this hope and will be historically just, ethical and essential. Such is the plan for the application of Israeli sovereignty over all parts of the Land", says the Sovereignty Movement.
The co-chairwomen of the Sovereignty Movement, Yehudit Katsover and Nadia Matar, emphasize that this is a political and security imperative that is agreed upon by the vast majority of the members of the coalition and is even supported by some parts of the opposition. "At this time the prime minister has the power to take the necessary step that will win rare understanding and agreement in the White House as well and even among other countries, although we do not need their permission for such an essential step. The source of the call for sovereignty is the ancient divine promise that gives the Jewish People exclusive right to its Land. The task to apply sovereignty is the next level of the Zionist vision. This is a complex task and must be approached with balanced judgment and responsibility, but the price of any other political plan would be much more difficult and painful, as we have already experienced and are currently experiencing".
The Sovereignty Movement's call joins the call of others of a similar spirit, in the wake of the murderous wave of terror of recent days.
MK Moti Yogev, a member of the Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee writes: "The Palestinian Authority is a terror organization. Any attempt to build upon it a political solution that will improve the situation will end in a blood bath. The only way to peace – full Israeli political, security and humanitarian control of Judea and Samaria. We will take care of security and the fabric of life for the residents of Judea and Samaria, for Jews and Arabs alike".
Philosopher and spiritual figure Moti Karpel writes: "Hope is the motivation for terror, not despair and there is only one way to cut off this hope: to apply Israeli sovereignty from the sea to the Jordan. Period".
Head of the Binyamin Local Council, Yisrael Gantz, called on the prime minister: "We call on you, Mr. Prime Minister, to give a response to the citizens of Israel and apply sovereignty in all of Judea and Samaria today. This terror attack is another of dozens and hundreds of attacks. We demand new communities and a mass normalization of the communities of Judea and Samaria. This is what will triumph over terror".
The head of Gush Etzion Council, Shlomo Ne'eman, states that "terror attacks will not stop on their own. The Arab nation must lose all hope that something will change for the better as a result of acts of terror. This place is ours and we must declare sovereignty in Judea and Samaria. Nothing else will stop it. The government, the Knesset and the People must act to strengthen the settlement enterprise and to turn Judea and Samaria into an integral part of the State of Israel".
Minister of Science Ofir Akunis also calls for the initial steps of sovereignty, writing: "This ugly, cruel wave of terror must be cut off immediately. These two-legged animals, those who send them and their families must know that the more they try to destroy us –the stronger we will become. We must apply Israeli sovereignty over the Jewish parts of Judea and Samaria".
Head of the Karnei Shomron Council, Yigal Lahav, also responds to the terror attacks stating that "the only response to the terror attacks is to continue the settlement in all areas without limitation, with the application of Israeli sovereignty so that it will be clear to all who is the sovereign in the area".
