A conference on settlement by the weekly Besheva newspaper was held in the Samarian community of Kedem, where certificates of recognition for settlement were awarded to a number of public figures and bodies, among which was the Sovereignty Movement and its co-chairwomen, Yehudit Katsover and Nadia Matar, for the movement’s contribution to the advancement of the vision of the application of Israeli sovereignty over Judea and Samaria.

Katsover and Matar dedicated the certificate to the Sovereignty Youth Movement, whose hundreds of members in the past two years embarked upon activities of hasbara and worked to promote the vision of sovereignty throughout the Land. The certificate was awarded to young men and women representatives of Sovereignty Youth by Minister of Transportation Bezalel Smotrich and Deputy Foreign Minister MK Tzipi Hotovely.

The conference concluded with a special session chaired by Katsover and Matar entitled “Sovereignty – the tool to Conflict Resolution”.
During this session, the TAMA 100 was presented, which is the national outline plan that the Sovereignty Movement has been deeply engaged in. It is the first outline plan in the history of Israel to view Judea and Samaria as an integral part of the State of Israel and Jerusalem as the spiritual and practical center of Israel.

The plan was presented in detail by architect Yoram Ginsburg, who heads the team working on the plan’s preparation.

Yehudit Katsover and Nadia Matar opened their remarks with words of congratulations for the establishment of the community of Kedem to the leaders of the settlement enterprise and to Besheva, the organizers of the conference.

The two women expressed concern regarding the prime minister’s remarks on his intention to apply sovereignty in the communities of Judea and Samaria but no more than this. The two women said that after Netanyahu’s remarks at the beginning of the school year in Elkana, they received many messages thanking them for the achievement of instilling the vision of sovereignty, but they had mixed feelings.

“On one hand, the message has penetrated, the Israeli pubic is aware that the Right has a vision; there is a solution to the conflict’ there are many ministers and members of Knesset that support it; there are plans for sovereignty and our prime minister has felt pressure from the public, and this is the reason that the prime minister, in his historic vision, has promised to apply sovereignty, exactly as we thought when we set out – pressure from below would work upward… but on the other hand, there is still great concern and much pain.

The Land of Israel is one spiritual, historic, geographic, ecological, security and especially ideological unit. If we surrender one centimeter of it – the entire ideological tower would fall and collapse, Heaven forbid. If it is possible to give up Hevron, Heaven forbid, then it is possible to give up Ashkelon. If it is possible Heaven forbid to give up on area A and B, then it is possible to give up on area C Heaven forbid. "

“Therefore”, Katsover and Matar continued, “our hearts hurt because of the prime minister’s announcement about the application of sovereignty only over the communities. The communities of Judea and Samaria constitute only about 2% of the entire area of Judea and Samaria. Rumors from dependable sources say that along with sovereignty over the communities, according to the Trump plan, some sort of Palestinian entity would be established in the remaining area! This is totally unacceptable”.

In relating to the demographic matter, the two women remarked that the demographic question was much more significant at the beginning of the renewed Jewish  settlement about a hundred years ago , when there was a clear Arab majority in the land, and nevertheless, the question was not asked because of the People’s resolve.  “At the beginning of the previous century it was clear: This is our land and it belongs only to us. We must immigrate to our Land and establish in it a Jewish state. On the entire area. After the Yom Kippur War, a movement arose to undermine this simple truth. The belief in the justice of the cause was weakened by the leftist movements such as Peace Now and others. Despite there being today a clear Jewish majority from the sea to the Jordan, they talk about giving away parts of our Land.

However, along with this weak we are witness to the rise of a camp of the faithful, infused with ideology of longing for the Land of Israel, clinging to it, building it, and now demanding to rise to another level – the application of sovereignty upon it!”.

Katsover and Matar presented a video to the attendees of the conference showing the Palestinian Authority’s plan for the development of transportation in Judea and Samaria while until now, the government of Israel has not seen fit to include Judea and Samaria in its outline plans.
During the session on sovereignty Minister Smotrich and Deputy Minister Hotovely also called for the decision for sovereignty over all of Judea and Samaria and not only in the communities.

Brig. Gen. Amir Avivi proved that it is not possible to secure the State of Israel without Judea and Samaria, stating that there is no security official who is capable of presenting a security plan to defend Israel from Route 6.
