The Sovereignty March - a tailwind for Netanyahu to move forward

Members of the Sovereignty Movement marched to the Prime Minister’s office with the call to Netanyahu and the government ministers to apply sovereignty even before the elections and to implement the will of the People

Members  of the Sovereignty Movement, together with members of Sovereignty Youth, gathered in front of the Prime Minister’s residence (Thursday, February 6, 2020) to march to the Prime Minister’s office with the call to apply Israeli sovereignty over Judea and Samaria before the elections.

Former members of Knesset Orit Struk and Idit Silman also took part in the event and gave speeches. In her speech, former member of Knesset Silman noted that in light of the positive tailwind from the Trump administration, expressed by the transfer of the embassy to Jerusalem, the recognition of the Golan Heights and the present recognition of Israel’s right to sovereignty in Judea and Samaria, the next step depends on Israel. “It all depends on what how we begin and what happens first. If we apply sovereignty first, the dream to establish a Palestinian state, a terror state with a capital in Jerusalem, will not happen. If we enter negotiations, we know that we might lose”, said Silman, concluding with a call to apply sovereignty now.

Former member of Knesset Orit Struk began her speech with words of thanks and appreciation to the Sovereignty Movement its leaders, “the tireless Yehudit Katsover and Nadia Matar, thanks to whom even the White House speaks of applying sovereignty today”.

We are here to call on the Prime Minister to go ahead, as in the Torah portion for this week, where it is written ‘Why are you yelling at me, speak to the Children of Israel and go’. This is not the time for talk or hesitation and looking right and left, but to advance forward and the sea will split. The People are very ready for this.

The last poll that you did in the Sovereignty Movement proves the great support within the Israeli public for the idea of sovereignty. It also has support from the beyond the ocean and all that is necessary is to march forward into the sea and split it into two. The alternative is terrible and disastrous. The alternative is not only to miss out, but also a Palestinian state, transferring part of the Land of Israel to the Arabs, a terror state that will turn the entire coastal lowland into the Judea and Samaria envelope. We are here to provide a tailwind to the Prime Minister to march forward”.

The movement explains that the route for the march was chosen to emphasize that the outcome is in the Prime Minister’s hands. “It is within Prime Minister Netanyahu’s power to bring about the application of sovereignty over the Jordan Valley and the Jewish settlements before the elections. The government of Israel has the authority to apply sovereignty with a governmental decision independent of any external factors”.

The march was held following the publication of American President Donald Trump’s political plan. “Immediately following the publication of the plan, the Prime Minister announced that he would immediately bring the application of sovereignty for a vote in the government. The lovers of the Land of Israel demand for him to implement this announcement, which will also lead the Right camp to victory in the elections”, say the movement’s co-chairwomen, Yehudit Katsover and Nadia Matar.

The Prime Minister of Israel and the ministers can enter the annals of history with a step of leadership that will raise the entire State of Israel to the next level of Zionism, the level of sovereignty”, say the two women.

The Sovereignty Movement activists’ march is an integral part of a campaign that the movement has been leading in recent days. As part of the campaign, billboard signs and hasbara material were distributed with a "Sovereignty- mobile" throughout the Land  with the call to the government of Israel’s ministers not to take any part in the vote for the idea of a Palestinian state.

We know with certainty that this is the position of almost all of the government’s ministers and we intend to strengthen and support this position. The ministers declared their commitment to the vision of sovereignty and their deep concern about the dangers entailed in a Palestinian state in the heart of the Land some time ago. The People in Israel stand behind their position and we bring the voice of the People to the march”, say Katsover and Matar, who emphasize the significance of the very agreement to the idea of an alien state on the soil of the Land of Israel:

“The historic right to the Land of Israel belongs only to the Jewish People and this is totally independent of any security matter. You do not do business or deals on your homeland”.
