Dear Friends,
Happy Shavuot!

The holiday of Shavuot is almost upon us, reminding us of the living connection between the People of Israel and its Land, between the produce and  fruits of the Land and the spirit of the People, who coalesce and make a pilgrimage to Jerusalem, its eternal capital. This produce that we bring is what the prophet Yehezkel prophesied regarding the redemption “But ye, O mountains of Israel, ye shall shoot forth your branches, and yield your fruit to My people Israel; for they are at hand to come” (Yehezkel 36:8). The People of Israel gathers in its Land and the Land shines its countenance upon him in the form of its fruits and its flowering trees.

The holiday of Shavuot, the holiday of the giving of the Torah, also connects us  to the source of the ancient promises beginning with the promise to Abraham “'Unto thy seed have I given this land” (Genesis 15:18). This is the spring from which our longing for the Land of Israel has flowed through all generations. It is not from the power of any declaration or recognition by a world leader that we derive our right to the Land of Israel, but by the power of G-d’s promise to his People. It is by virtue of this promise, that we derive our demand for the People of Israel’s sovereignty over its Land. If any people desires to support this right and connect to the historic justice and eternal truth, it would not be “doing a favor” to the Jewish People but to itself, by its very connecting itself to the historic and ethical truth.

Sovereignty is not a Deal

With the increased discussion of sovereignty in light of the political plan presented for discussion by the U.S. President, there is also increasing interest in the Sovereignty Movement’s position. The movement’s words are heard and quoted in the media. On every stage and in every opportunity, our movement repeats the principle that our friends know well: “yes” to sovereignty, regardless of any connection to the Deal of the Century, which seeks to sweeten the poison pill of a Palestinian state with sovereignty over 30 percent of the territory of Judea and Samaria and the Jordan Valley.

Keep away from false polls

In recent weeks the left-wing movement, Commanders for Israel’s Security, published the claim that a survey conducted by the movement showed that a majority of the pubic in Israel opposes the various plans for applying Israeli law over Judea and Samaria.

The claim won wide media coverage and the heads of the movement were invited several times to news studios to present the results of that “survey”. Journalist Kalman Liebskind chose not to be impressed by the headlines or declaration by the senior “commanders” and preferred to delve more deeply into survey data to examine the veracity of its data. The result surprised even him.

In an article published by Ma’ariv, Liebskind describes the true data, which are totally opposite from that which was reported by the movement and its heads. It turns out that a majority of the Israeli public, and to be more accurate, 52%, are indeed interested in some step to apply Israeli sovereignty and law in Judea and Samaria and only 38% are interested in unilateral separation or the idea of two states. However, the movement chose to mislead the public with headlines that are simply the opposite of the truth.

Liebskind even contacted the heads of the movement to ask for their response and got an elusive and vague answer.

The Trap of the Century. Learn the Facts

The Sovereignty Movement’s objection in principle to the Deal of the Century is well known, as it is a plan that includes agreement in principle to a scheme that will lead to the establishment of an alien state in the heart of our Land. Our friend Boaz Haetzni delved deeply into the plan, read and translated all of its pages and studied the ramifications of the plan’s map. His conclusion is extremely concerning and disturbing, and he has packed it into a special presentation entitled “The Trap of the Century”.

In an interview with Arutz 7, Boaz spoke about the results that he discovered just because he simply chose  to read the truth as it is and not be dazzled by headlines of sovereignty that would be given under the plan. Israeli commitment to a Palestinian state regardless of the Arab response, freezing of communities and suffocating them, cutting off communities from main roads and huge territorial contiguity for the Arabs are only part of the dangerous plan, which, for some reason, was received with applause by senior members of the national camp.

One example, among many others, is what is expected to happen to Kiryat Arba-Hevron, Heaven forbid. Driving from Gush Etsion to Kiryat Arba Hevron ( because the main artery leading from it from Jerusalem would be cut off and given to the Arabs, while the only exit would be to the South, to Be’er Sheva. This would cut off the communities of Har Hevron and in Samaria, nearby communities would be cut off from each other …

Boaz calls on the leaders of the Right to wake up, to see the data as it is and to stop their naieve initial enthusiasm. In his opinion, the only way Israel can escape the tragic results of the Trump plan is to give up all of its components, including the “bone” of partial sovereignty that is thrown in Israel’s direction.

To me, sovereignty is…

And this time, Minister Ofir Akunis (Likud) responds:

To me, sovereignty is validated by our natural-historic right. This was always our Land and we are completing our total return to our homeland, the Land of our birth and the cradle of our culture, with the application of sovereignty in Samaria, Judea and the Jordan Valley.

Sovereignty is Cool

The sovereignty Youth is mobilizing these days for a busy month of Sovereignty activities till the beginning of July, the time when Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu plans to start moving the wheels of sovereignty in the framework of his agreement with the Trump administration.

The youths are energetic and determined, the true pioneers of the next generation, and are prepared for the campaign as ambassadors of sovereignty throughout the Land and they will call out ‘Yes’ to sovereignty and ‘No’ to a Palestinian state!

If you are also a youth imbued with love of the Land, who understands well the existential dangers behind dividing the Land and establishing a terror state in its heart, if you have initiative and desire to have a real influence on the Jewish People’s next political steps, join the movement and its activities. Look for them on Facebook.
