Dear friends and partners
Greetings.

With a big hug and boundless love, the Land of Israel receives her son, Jonathan Pollard, who has returned after years of the severe torment that were imposed upon him only because of his great contribution to the security and safety of the Jewish People.

We hope that we will be able to express our tremendous respect and appreciation for this special Jew, for whose freedom we have united in prayer and deed and now, we must know how to give him the reception that he deserves.

To dear Esther, his wife, who accompanied him during the stark years of the American prison system, we wish a speedy recovery, good health and the necessary strength to build your life together in the Holy Land.

The tent cries out

We congratulate the leaders of the Young Settlement Forum for setting up a protest tent that expresses, with its Bedouin design, the inconceivable gap between the way the Israeli government treats the Bedouin sector, which it seeks to normalize, on the one hand, compared to the way it deals with the Jewish settlement of true pioneers of our generation, the pioneers of the young settlement enterprise in Judea and Samaria, which are repeatedly thwarted with endless arguments and excuses.

The tent attracts public figures and politicians who see the absurdity of regulating the Bedouins versus thwarting Jewish normalization, and is outraged by it.

Also, the public figures who still are not aware of the magnitude of the disgrace, see and hear about it at the tent, become aware of the plight of families who carry the vision of Zionism and settlement on their backs, and promise to act to normalize it quickly and justly.

There was no media presence at the tent. The media, which magnifies every small leftist complaint turning it into a national protest, totally ignores a public tent expressing the real distress and long-standing abuse of citizens who have equal duties but lack equal rights in the State of Israel.

Normalizing the young settlement enterprise is an obligation and ethical and Zionist right of the first order, but here too, the true and full solution is a decision to apply Israeli sovereignty over all parts of the Land of Israel, which would lead to, among other things, the inevitable equalizing of conditions between the settlement in Judea and Samaria and what exists in other parts of the country.

We are not lowering the banners We are waving them high.

In anticipation of the elections, various leaders from the national camp are declaring a temporary shelving of their right-wing worldview, in favor of unity and “centralizing” their party, perhaps in the hope of garnering more votes with the aspiration of coming to power.

In an op-ed article that we published, we criticized this trend to neutralize and shelve the values of the national camp, the values of clinging to the Land of Israel and Jewish identity, in the name of a false unity that is nothing but erasing our identity and seeking the lowest common denominator.

If this is the platform that the leaders of the right-wing camp present, we fear that there will be nothing to campaign with before election day or to take to the ballot box itself.

The struggle for life in the period of the pandemic is important, but it is not everything. The Zionist vision has not yet been entirely realized and we must continue to stride on the path leading to it without lowering the banners.

Indeed, the opposite is required – we must wave more banners to reinforce those that already exist.

Soul-searching for all of us

The increasing details in the media around the investigation of the death of Ahuvia Sandak, obm, are very disturbing.

There is an increasing suspicion of attempts to whitewash and hide agents of law enforcement and the legal system.

The family’s attorneys, journalists, public figures, politicians and the justice-seeking public must be vigilant and ensure that the truth will come to light and that this tragic event will not be used to slander the youths who love the Land of Israel and give their lives for it, even at the cost of having their names tarnished and defamed.

An examination of the event, and in general, of the way the Hilltop Youth are treated, reveals a severe flaw on the part of the authorities, and apparently, not only them, toward these youths.

Some people are confused. Some people believe that this dear youth, which clings to the lands of our forefathers, which is engaged in agriculture, settling the land and study of Torah, is an enemy that must be fought.

There are events in which the Hilltop Youths have gone to defend agricultural areas from Arab takeover and confrontations result. And the youths, who are not afraid of confrontation and who strand strong for their rights to the Land of Israel, end up looking to some people like provocateurs and engaging in violence for its own sake.
This is how the media easily turns loyalists into enemies.

But things do not begin and end in the treatment by the media and the legal system. We all must do some deep soul-searching on the matter of how we relate to the Hilltop Youth, to get to know how much they love the Land of Israel and treat them accordingly.

To me, sovereignty is

And this time, we have the chairman of the National Union, MK Bezalel Smotrich:

To me, sovereignty is the continuation of the Zionist vision. A mission of the highest importance. Sovereignty is near, G-d willing, and it will continue to be of the highest priority for me, until we succeed”.

Being satisfied with the lack of war

In an article published by Atty. Doron Nir Ben Tzvi, an expert in the lands of Judea and Samaria, warns of the ramifications of the peace agreements signed by the Prime Minister and those which, according to expectations, are yet to be signed in the near future.

These agreements have symbolic implications in principle, for an Arab holding in Jerusalem and the Temple Mount, Israeli imprimatur of the dubious conduct of states such as Sudan and Morocco, and military and security implications touching on the balance of powers in the Middle East, etc.

Sanity in Tel Aviv

We would like to encourage Shefi Paz, who was indicted this week due to her continuing struggle to restore Israeli sovereignty in south Tel Aviv.

Shefi shows the appropriate kind of tenacity with her demand to return the infiltrators and foreign workers to their countries of origin.

The infiltrators are establishing facts on the ground in the first Hebrew city, waving flags and establishing their presence there, blatantly breaking the law, intimidating the veteran Jewish residents of the south of the city, chasing merchants from their place of business, turning synagogues and stores into dens of drugs and crime. All of this wins the economic support of the European Union.

Shefi Paz’s struggle was should have earned her a medal from the entire nation, but the loss of principles and weakness of sovereignty has resulted in an indictment against her this wee.
But Shefi stands strong for the residents of south Tel Aviv and the Jewish identity of the entire city.

Parting from and commemorating Miri Tsahi
 (Credit Hagai Huberman)

This week, with great sorrow, we parted from the Land of Israel photographer, who documented the settlement enterprise, a settler in spirit and soul, our dear friend, Miri Tsahi, obm.

Miri conveyed her great love for the Land of Israel through the lens of her camera to the general public. In her unique way, she strengthened in all of us, the connection and historical duty to the ancestral landscapes; to the images of the Land of Israel and historic moments that she documented - moments of sorrow, joy, pain and excitement.

Miri accompanied us and others in tasks of settlement and clinging to the Land of Israel; she was always there, near the residents and the residents, day and night, to document, augment and eternalize it for future generations.

There would have been a huge gap in the story of the settlement enterprise of Judea and Samaria if Miri had not been there with her camera at the right times and the right places.

Miri Tsahi contributed to the Sovereignty Movement through her professional world as well, as she was quick to volunteer the best of her photographs of the Land of Israel for the movement’s publications. “She saw it as her personal mission to contribute her unique talents to the advancement of the vision of sovereignty”.

In Miri’s honor, we will soon open a special page on our website which will incorporate photographs taken by you, in the spirit of Miri’s photographs; photos that strengthen our love for the Land in our hearts and our deeds.

If you would like to send us photos of landscapes of Judea and Samaria, special moments of settlement and building that you have documented with your cameras, you can send them to us by email: [email protected].
You can include with your photo or photos a short verbal description of the photograph or add a few words in memory of Miri.

Important note: Since the photos will be uploaded to the site, they must be free of copyright issues and this must be explicitly noted with the photos.

Contributing in Geula’s way

In a special, moving ceremony, last week we laid the cornerstone at the Oz veGaon preserve for the project to commemorate the legacy of Geula Cohen, obm – Geula’s Cabin.

This project will, please G-d, attract visitors from Israel and abroad, as groups and individuals, youths and adults, wanting to learn about the legacy of this woman of spirit and deeds, the dreamer and fighter who left her mark in every corner of the Land of Israel and passed on a heritage for future generations.

The cost of the project is expected to be high but you, our partners and friends, have already proven that together, we have the power to bring such important projects to fruition.

If you would like to contribute to the project, please contact us by telephone or by email: [email protected]
