Shalom dear friends,

Disgracefully, the work that should have been done with resolve, strength, wisdom and courage was not completed. The IDF was ready to strike Hamas and its leaders and bring about its surrender, the people in Israel were strong enough to stand to the right of the government and absorb the blows in order to lead to resolution and even the American administration and leaders of the European Union countries did not insist on stopping the stampeding Israeli force from fighting back.

It was extremely important to deal a decisive military blow, both to give the aggressor what he deserved, and to make clear to Israel’s enemies and persecutors both at home and abroad, the price of provoking us and to restore to the Jewish People the sense of governance  that has been lost during the recent difficult years. But the government of Israel has chosen to do otherwise and has accepted the prescribed cease-fire, the purpose of which, every military and diplomatic expert knows, is to rearm and strengthen Hamas and Islamic Jihad for future attacks on Israel.

Every orientalist and expert in the language of Islam understands quite well that this is the Muslim practice – to agree to a cease-fire until the time when the Muslim side feels that it can win, and then he can nullify any agreement and attack any adversary. This is what Muhammad did to the Quraysh tribe and this is how the Muslims behave today as well. The experts and orientalists have issued warnings and cautions that this is what is behind the agreements and accords, but the Israeli leaders refused to listen. They preferred the false illusion of temporary calm over continuing the battle until Israel’s decisive victory and the enemy’s surrender.

The Israeli government cut short the fighting without even bringing home the sons held hostage. This moral and humanitarian demand, which arises from all parts of the People, regardless of sector or political position, was not achieved, and although Israel has not yet achieved an acceptable resolution of this minimal humanitarian demand, Israel allows humanitarian measures to be taken for the welfare of Gaza residents, whether it is for the repair of damaged electrical cables or the transfer of food and civilian equipment or fuel deliveries, etc.

The Israeli government needs an ideological and values-based backbone based on the values of Judaism and Zionism. A government of this sort would not be satisfied with declarations and speeches, but would find the strength to act differently. This is the command of the hour and it is in the hands of the leaders of the Rightwing camp.

A flashing warning light

Brig. Gen. (res.) Gershon HaCohen said important things this week in an interview with Arutz 7, in his analysis of the results of the campaign in the south.

Relating to the backing that Israel received from the American administration during the fighting, Maj. Gen. HaCohen expressed the thought that we must see it as another red warning light regarding the future political intentions of the American administration toward Israel.

While it may seem to us that this backing is evidence of American support for the Israeli Right in the diplomatic struggle as well, Gen. HaCohen refers us to the words of former minister Tzipi Livni, who even now calls for promoting the idea of separation and establishing two states.

HaCohen views Livni’s words as having been delivered as an emissary of the Obama people who sit deep within the Biden administration. In his opinion, “Biden understands that he must give a green light to the fighting because he understands that it is impossible to push for two states without giving backing to attacks of this sort”. In other words, the military backing is intended to prove to the Israeli government that such backing will come even if there should be an attack upon Israel by the Palestinian state that the Americans seek to establish in Judea and Samaria.

HaCohen’s important words are a significant warning signal for Israeli leaders. This is not the time for political experiments such as establishing a government combining the Right, the Left, the radical Left and supported by members of Arab factions. The next government must be prepared for an extremely aggressive White House, whose aim is to establish a Palestinian state in Israel’s Biblical HeartLand. To face such aggressiveness, Israel must have in place as right-wing a government as possible, a government whose parts and components see clearly connection between the People of Israel and the entire Land of Israel and is committed to oppose any step that would lead to a division of the Land.

This also leads to the call for the leaders of the Right to wake up and in the few days that remain, forget the rivalries and quarrels of the past, look for the good and future of Israel and always keep the goal of establishing a strong and stable right-wing government uppermost in their minds.

Jerusalem – at the heart of it all

The remarks made by American Secretary of State Anthony Blinken during his current visit in Israel provide a subtle, preliminary hint of the pressure that the Washington administration is expected to exert on the Israeli government during the years of Biden’s term as president. The Americans, as we see from Blinken’s words, plan to reopen the Palestinian consulate in Jerusalem.

And although, after our inquiry, it seems that the U.S. will have a not insignificant legal problem in implementing the step, the very declaration shows us where the Biden administration is headed. The Americans, like Israel’s enemies, understand the centrality of Jerusalem. Those who seek evil for Israel, both at home and abroad, use Jerusalem as a pretext to carry out pogroms against the Jewish People, and the Jewish, Zionist  response must be via Jerusalem.

For this reason, we in the Sovereignty Movement are setting out these days with the “Greater Jerusalem” campaign, whose purpose is to expand the borders of Jerusalem and include Gush Etzion in the south, Mevaseret in the west, Ma’ale Adumim in the east and the towns of central Binyamin in the north, under the municipal and legal umbrella of metropolitan Jerusalem, as is customary in many capitals in the world.

To promote the process, we are gathering background material that were prepared in the past, by entrepreneurs, statesmen and intellectuals, but have been neglected. We will collect these materials into a practical program, but even at this stage, we are holding meetings and discussions with politicians and statesmen who are top decision-makers in the State of Israel, getting them interested in the plan and emphasizing the importance of such a plan, which will make the importance and centrality of Jerusalem in the life of the State of Israel, clear to us and to the world, hence, Israel’s intentions regarding the future of the city and the nation.

The Jerusalem Law will be applied to the entire metropolis and will make it clear to the world that the eternal city will not be divided - rather, it will be expanded and become stronger and from it, future phases will follow, with sovereignty over the entire expanse of Judea and Samaria.

The terrible lack in the list of holy places

We extend our congratulations to the energetic Member of Knesset May Golan for her proposal of law in the Knesset to include the Temple Mount in the list of holy places.

It is amazing to find that until now, although the graves of Tannaim and Amoraim and various heritage sites are included in the list, ironically, the Temple Mount, as well as the Cave of the Patriarchs, the heart of the Jewish People and its holiest place, are not included in this list.

If Member of Knesset Golan’s proposed law is passed, procedures and regulations will apply to the Temple Mount that will prevent it from being desecrated and disgraced by young Muslims, prayers and visiting will be regulated. Member of Knesset Golan’s clear words on the centrality and importance of the Temple Mount in the life of the Jewish People and her statement that without the Temple Mount the People of Israel has no right to exist in its Land, are amazing words in their simplicity and truth. We hope that members of Knesset from the Right and the Left will internalize these things and support the process, despite the expected attacks and criticism from the world and Israeli media.

We are with you, May!

Parting, with deep gratitude

This week we parted from a great researcher, archaeologist Dr. Eilat Mazar, obm, who brought to light, by methodical and devoted work, many findings that reveal the historical past of Jerusalem and our present-day links to biblical stories.

The findings that Dr. Mazar produced touched the hearts of Jews throughout the world. The connection between the Jewish People and its past was wonderfully strengthened with every rare seal and ancient every Hebrew inscription that she discovered, and there were many such. The findings were an ace in every diplomatic argument since the future of Israel is rooted deeply, deeply in her past.

The wonderful work of Dr. Mazar, obm, will be remembered in the hearts of the Jewish People for generations, and we pray that her work will be continued in the academic world, to expose and reveal the eternal truth that binds the People of Israel to its capital.

The Youth Conference is almost here

Sovereignty Youth is approaching the final preparations for the upcoming youth conference to be held on June 10th. This week, we held another meeting of the movement’s coordinators and together, we sketched out the plan for the conference, which will be loaded with content.

For the youth, the events of recent weeks increase the need to strengthen sovereignty and governance not only in Judea and Samaria, not only in Jerusalem, but throughout the entire Land, and this matter will also be brought up during the discussions at the conference.

A great many public figures, spiritual leaders and people of action have already promised to participate in the conference. The youth coordinators are organizing for the arrival of many youths from all parts of the Land and if you, members of the older generation, also want to take part, you can do it and contribute to this important project, which nurtures and develops Israel’s next generation of leadership. We would be delighted to be in contact with those who desire to be part of the approaching event.
