Dear friends,
Shalom and Greetings.
There are difficult days ahead.
Jerusalem is in danger
Let’s support Member of Knesset Bezalel Smotrich’s important appeal to Prime Minister Naftali Bennett, following the American intention to establish a “Palestinian Consulate” in east Jerusalem, and especially in light of reports that Israel intends to consent to this.
This step, taken by the American administration, is a severe violation of Israel’s sovereignty over her capital and Israel’s considering to agree to it is no less severe.
Below are citations from Member of Knesset Smotrich’s letter to the Prime Minister:
“It has been brought to my attention that there is currently a discussion taking place between the government under your leadership and the American administration, regarding the establishment of an American consulate in east Jerusalem for the Arab public, which will be defined as the “Palestinian” consulate.
As you surely know, by virtue of President Trump’s decision on the American recognition of Jerusalem, the American administration is forbidden by law to establish a consulate in east Jerusalem unless it has received permission from the Israeli government.
To the best of my understanding, the Israeli government is considering to grant the American administration’s request and in doing so, is effectively dividing Jerusalem and recognizing Jerusalem as the capital of a Palestinian state.
If, Heaven forbid, you approve it, it will be a terrible and dangerous step and an immutable disgrace.
I demand that you inform the U.S. administration that Israel will not be part of dividing Jerusalem and will not allow the establishment of a consulate in any part of the unified city”.
We shall be vigilant in this issue; we will prevent by all means at our disposal, any such destructive steps of this sort, which would entail long-term destruction of Jerusalem as the unified capital of Israel.
In this context, we again mention that our movement and its activists are now in the process of promoting a plan leading to a goal that is contrary to the American intention - the Greater Jerusalem plan.
This initiative, which calls for expanding Jerusalem and turning it into a metropolis, which would include Ma’ale Adumim, Giv’at Ze’ev, Gush Etzion and Mevaserret, will strengthen Israel’s status in Jerusalem as her capital; it will increase the Jewish majority, it will determine the status of the neighborhoods in the east, north and south as unavailable for any political negotiation in the future and especially, it will settle the issue of the centrality of Jerusalem to Jewish life in Israel’s national consciousness and this will be recognized internationally.
Shimon Hatzadik
The media is not reporting this, perhaps in an effort to show a calming trend in Jewish-Arab relations in the mixed cities, but the harsh reality persists. In the mixed cities, Lod and Ramle, for example, Jews are attacked – adults, youths and children – by Arabs seeking to undermine Israel’s sovereignty even within “Little Israel”. Jerusalem is highlighted again, and the continual focus of Arab violence is the neighborhood of Shimon Hatzadik.
Every evening Jews of the neighborhood are attacked by Arabs with stones, rocks, clubs, fireworks and beginning this week, with Molotov cocktails as well. This week a Jewish pregnant woman who is a resident of the neighborhood was injured by Arabs during the riots.
The Jerusalem Police must put a stop to this dangerous escalation before we end up paying a painful price in blood. Sovereignty in Jerusalem is not just a meaningless statement; it is a meaningful and uncompromising statement of the intention to enforce the law against terrorists, both internally and externally.
Minister of Internal Security Omer Bar Lev demonstrated a resolute position when he approved of the flag march last week, and indeed, the march proceeded under the appropriate security measures taken by the Capital Police. When there is a will, there is also ability. Moreover, Minister Bar Lev’s decision proved that on the subject of Jerusalem, there is no argument between Right and Left, there is no coalition or opposition. Israel’s sovereignty in Jerusalem is not challengeable and in this spirit, we will continue to act to strengthen and expand this sovereignty.
The struggle over state lands
This week, members from our movement participated in marches that were held throughout Judea and Samaria with the call to the Israeli government to regain control over the open areas of Judea and Samaria. We also held a vigil at Gush Etzion Junction for those who were not able to march. The marches and vigil received wide media coverage.
This call has now become critical, with the PA continuing to take over land in an organized and systematic way, with European money pouring into its coffers.
They are doing this by paving roads, by establishing new towns, by marking and working agricultural plots, etc. The PA dedicates many resources and management personnel to this, with the goal of strangling the Jewish towns and building right next to traffic arteries so that they will pose a significant threat to the lives of the Jewish residents of the Yesha communities..
We must act here as well, together with the right-wing forces in the government, to demand that they take a strong stand against the PA’s dangerous trends of eroding and taking over land.

Evyatar
Evyatar, with its dozens of pioneering families, was established in memory of Evyatar Borovski and Yehuda Guetta, hyd, who were murdered by Arab terrorists. Since the inception of Zionism, settlement has always been a response to the terrorists’ hopes of uprooting the People of Israel from its Land. The response of settlement has always been combined with a security response.
We bless the residents of Evyatar for their pioneering act, for leadership conducting the good battle for consciousness and heroic deeds, and we hope that they will succeed in thwarting the push for evacuations.
The “right” of return creeps in
The government of Israel is faced with another matter which also seeks to erode our sovereignty and Israel’s identity as the Jewish state.
The Israeli government seeks to find a solution to the Arab demand to allow for the unification of families, i.e., granting the official status of citizen to the Arabs of Judea and Samaria who marry Israeli Arab spouses. Under the guise of humanitarianism, this process promotes the concept of “a state of all its citizens”, which seeks to obscure Israel’s Jewish identity and in parallel, the Arab return into sovereign Israel.
This opening, if, Heaven forbid, it is allowed by the Israeli government, might lead to a disaster in the future for the State of Israel and the future of her citizens. The drip-drip of these families could become a storm that no one can stand up to. People in the government who are faithful to the Land of Israel must stand strong against the danger and stop this incipient trend.
Will there be a 27th Annual Tisha BeAv Walk around the Walls?
From the land of Israel we send our prayers to our brothers in Miami where a building collapsed and many are still missing. May the missing be found alive and may the wounded have a speedy recovery,
Shabbat shalom
