We are happy to present you with our Sovereignty bulletin #65, sent to members and supporters of our Sovereignty Movement. You are invited to read, get updated, send us your comments and join:
Dear friends,
Greetings.
As always, Jerusalem continues to be in our hearts, in the heart of the People of Israel, in the heart of the State of Israel and in the heart of Jewish life, and these days, Jerusalem has again become the public, political and diplomatic focus.
This focus sharpens and strengthens the importance of the Tisha b’Av eve walk that we will be holding together with you this coming Saturday night, the eve of Tisha b’Av, as we have done every year for the past 26 years.
As is our custom, we will hold the walk immediately after a group reading of the Scroll of Lamentations, we will walk around the gates of the city’s walls, we will hear the city’s history and her stories at specific points along the route of the walk and we will conclude with an assembly where public figures of spirit and actions will speak. Members of Knesset have been invited from all Zionist parties, members of the opposition as well as members of the coalition, with complete faith in the power of Jerusalem to form bonds between groups, opinions and various sectors among the People of Israel.
We are hoping to see you walking together with us - bring friends and acquaintances along with you to participate in the uplifting event , carrying flags of the nation and expressing our longing for the complete rebuilding of Israel’s capital.

We thank the Jerusalem Police and Minister of Internal Security Omer Bar-Lev, for the clear position that they presented with their full approval of the walk without any changes or limitations.
Greater Jerusalem on our hearts
On the night of Tisha B'Av, at the Walk, we will launch the logo of the 'Greater Jerusalem' campaign, which will accompany our hasbara activities to promote the project in the various arenas, media, and politics. On the logo it says in Hebrew: Greater Jerusalem. From a city to a Metropolis:

Jerusalem is above politics
As mentioned, Jerusalem also engages the political sphere. Member of Knesset Nir Barkat has proposed a law that would prevent the possibility of establishing the PA’s foreign consulate in Jerusalem. This important initiative joins the law proposed by Member of Knesset Miki Zohar, to apply Israeli sovereignty in Judea and Samaria.
We gave cautious support to these initiatives and have published the following response in the media:
The Sovereignty Movement supports the legislative initiative promoted by Likud MKs Miki Zohar and Nir Barkat calling for the application of sovereignty over Judea and Samaria and prevention of the establishments of foreign consulates for the Palestinian Authority in East Jerusalem. The steps taken by MKs Zohar and Barkat are important for bolstering Israeli sovereignty in Jerusalem, Judea, and Samaria and for curbing international attempts to erode Israeli governability in its eternal capital. However alongside the significance of these steps, one must ensure and guarantee that Jerusalem and sovereignty are not transformed into pawns in political games.”
“These are ethical issues which constitute the heart of the Zionist vision. It must be advanced not as a tool of political polemics; on the contrary, it is worthwhile to support them independent of settling political scores and taking political vengeance.”
“Our movement believes in the ability of the Israeli leadership, in both the opposition and the coalition, to neutralize narrow political considerations from substantive ethical issues and to vote in a constructive measured manner.”
Jerusalem’s significance crosses political boundaries and that should be the treatment that Israel’s capital receives in Israel’s Knesset".
The Future Leaders Understand the Present
Last Sunday and Monday we held a special sovereignty seminar for dozens of youths, members of the Sovereignty Youth Movement, who came from all parts of the Land, left their computer screens and matters of the summer vacation and came to delve, to learn, to gain knowledge about the Land of Israel and gather strength to continue the momentum of the struggle for sovereignty with governance.
We dedicated the first day of the seminar to the state of sovereignty and governance in Jerusalem. We learned about the difficulties and with attempts by hostile factors to erode Israel’s sovereignty and governance in our capital. We broadened our knowledge of the Greater Jerusalem initiative, which we have been promoting in recent weeks with joint efforts, which will constitute a response to the demographic difficulty in Jerusalem and help to deal with the challenge to sovereignty and governance. This initiative has many ramifications for our sovereignty in Judea and Samaria with the expansion of the municipal borders of Jerusalem to Mevaserret Zion, Ma’ale Adumim, Gush Etzion and Giv’at Ze’ev.
On the second day of the seminar, we focused on the challenge of governance and sovereignty in the Southern Hevron Hills and the Negev, in light of the continual weakening in these places.

The Elite Parliamentary Unit has set out on its Mission
Members of Sovereignty Youth launched the movement’s Elite Parliamentary Unit this week. Representatives of the movement held a preliminary tour of the Knesset in preparation for the many activities that they will have in this arena.
Members of the elite unit will be in contact with members of Knesset from various factions to promote sovereignty in Judea and Samaria and to strengthen governance in the entire Land. The youth will encourage those who promote Zionist legislative initiatives and will provide a tailwind for the nationalist leadership in the Israeli Knesset and the cabinet.
Tisah BeAv morning shiurim
This is a reminder for all who have not yet registered for the special seminar on the day of Tisha b’Av that will focus on the destruction and sovereignty of the eternal city.
May we be consoled with the rebuilding of Jerusalem
Shabbat shalom,
