Greetings.
Dear friends,
Happy Hanukah and Hodesh Tov (Have a good month)
Many miracles are recounted relating to the holiday of Hanukah, but the great miracle for which the feast of Hanukah was dedicated was the miracle of sovereignty, with the return of kingship to Israel for over two hundred years. Sovereignty is indeed a miracle and even a double miracle, a symbol, but miracles that occur in the Land of Israel naturally entail hard work and the People of Israel’s work proves its dedication for the mission that was given to it, to return to its Land, to cling to it, to build and be built up by it. We aspire and work towards the People of Israel’s eternal sovereignty in our Land. This sovereignty, which shall remain intact much longer than two hundred years, will also be worthy of a holiday by itself.
The youth is mobilized for the war of consciousness
This year as well, we held the Sovereignty Youth’s Hanukah seminar. Dozens of youths from all parts of the Land gathered at the Oz veGaon preserve, where they delved into research and deep thought on the vision of sovereignty together with public figures, spiritual leaders and people of action who spoke with them about realizing the vision of sovereignty.
In her lecture to the youths, Member of Knesset Sharren Haskel told of the campaign that she promoted for the application of sovereignty in the Jordan Valley as a first step toward further steps in Judea and Samaria. Haskel spoke of her disappointment because of the missed opportunity to apply sovereignty in the Valley during the Netanyahu-Gantz government, and in answer to the youths’ question she related to the complexity of a coalition partnership with RAAM.
On the matter of the consulate, she stated resolutely that this “will not happen”, in her words.

Historian Hagai Huberman explained to the youths the chain of events in the settlement revolution in Judea and Samaria, beginning with the first moments during the time of the Six Day War until today.

The chairman of Ad Kan, Gilad Ach, exposed to the youths who participated in the seminar, the special ways that his organization’s activists infiltrated radical leftist organizations and how these activists incite Arab villagers to demonstrate against IDF soldiers, to throw Molotov cocktails, rocks and burning tires, and even get paid for it.
He also told of the hard work that it took for his organization’s activists to expose the great damage done by the PA to the environment by discarding refuse without any oversight or enforcement, quarrying without any restrictions while Israel closes its eyes, seeing these quarries as appropriate payment to Abu Mazen’s cronies.

Former Member of Knesset Prof. Aryeh Eldad presented to the youths his plan for sovereignty and proposed an eye-opening answer to the question of dealing with the demographic challenge after the application of sovereignty, and it turns out that the seeds of the solution were planted even before the State of Israel was established.

Sovereignty Youth conveys resolute messages onward
An especially exciting part of the youth seminar was when veterans of the Sovereignty Youth Movement came, on their own initiative, to give to the members of the movement short TED lectures on their personal insights and lessons learned from their own experiences.
The young lecturers dealt with the hasbara and public significance of hasbara work long-term, how to perform hasbara with the media and what is the right way to convince an interlocutor of the justice of the cause and its practical implementation.
There is no doubt that the leaders of the future generation in the State of Israel are being formed here in the Sovereignty Movement, and you can see this in the content, the dedication, the style of expression and the sparkle in the eyes.

A painful parting from a great leader
It is with great pain that we parted this week from our teacher and rabbi, Rav Gideon Perl, zt”l, who passed suddenly.
Rav Perl guided us, accompanied us in all the activities in the struggle for the lands of Netzer in Gush Etzion, in the struggle for the Shdema military camp, in Oz veGaon and other places.
The Rav always listened, was always ready to take part in an activity, work hard and provide us with his full backing. He was not disturbed by the heat or the cold. He was always full of joy, full of power, pushing forward.
Rav Perl was always happy with the activity of the Sovereignty Youth. We held many meetings at the house of the Rav and Rabbanit Yiskah, may she live a long life. We sat together and thought about plans until late at night.
His house, his heart, his sons, his daughters and his sons-in-law joined the great spirit led by Rav Gideon, the spirit of the Land of Israel. His passing is a great loss to the family, a great loss to the Sovereignty Movement and a great loss to the Land of Israel. May we be comforted with building the Land of Israel.
Praying for good tidings
Hodesh tov,
Happy Hanukah
Yehudit Katsover and Nadia Matar
