Presenting the well-oiled mechanism of the European Union as it operates leftist organizations to erase Israel’s Jewish identity, to destroy the settlement and strengthen the PA.
Matan Peleg, head of Im Tirzu, speaks with participants of the Sovereignty Youth Summer Seminar about the importance of belief in the justice of our cause as an integral part of the ability to influence public discourse on policy surrounding the realization of the vision of sovereignty.
As someone whose movement leads a persistent hasbara struggle against the BDS movement against Israel, against the settlement and against the IDF, Peleg believes that the ease with which these elements manage to erode Israeli belief in the justice of Israel’s claims and the morality of her actions, stems from Israeli good-heartedness, our willingness for self-criticism and the desire to take the high road of righteousness. This, he says, is the reason that Israel accepts upon itself the false accusations leveled against it, willing, again and again, to investigate her actions in contrast to the Arab side, which acts without any self-criticism at all, and if there is any accusation to be made, it is always leveled against Israel.
Peleg expanded regarding the European involvement in funding influential leftist organizations in Israel, the most prominent and clear of these, being the campaign against “settler violence” they are waging, which led to urgent discussions in Knesset on the subject while “An investigation reveals that the European Union has paid a million shekels to Breaking the Silence in order to defame the settlement in Judea and Samaria. This led to three discussions in Knesset, a special discussion by the defense minister and a tour by the Minister of Internal Security, as a result of the campaign, which was financed by organized foreign funding. Millions of dollars are paid in order to plant within us a doubt about the justice of our cause”.
Peleg considers the phrase “Amalek is doubt” as the organized and well-funded working plan whose aim is to weaken Israel’s executive and enforcement branches by strengthening the doubt in the justice of our cause and its ethical basis.
In one of the discussions, says Peleg, the head of the Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee, Member of Knesset Ram ben Barak, spoke of the importance of the discussions on settler violence because of the video clips documenting the phenomenon that were sent to him. Thus, he actually declared that the discussion was not happening as a result of data or research, but as a result of the orchestrated campaign launched by the campaign that sent him the videos. This all occurs in the situation where factual evaluation reveals that all of the cases that have been opened in Judea and Samaria for violence do not reach the number of cases that are opened in Azor Station.
“The agenda of the European Union is clear and suits its interests. The European Union operates with three branches. The first is to de-legitimize Jewish life in Israel, and for this, the propaganda organizations work to plant insecurity and doubt regarding our ethical right, through the sense that the settlers are violent so without them, there would be peace here. The second branch is payment to legal organizations that work to crush the settlement through the High Court of Justice. This is how they worked in the matter of Amona, Migron, the houses in Efrat, and other places, with appeals funded by foreign governments. The third branch is massive funding for Arab building in Area C. Tens of millions come to the PA to conquer and occupy Judea and Samaria”.
In addition, notes Peleg, in Jerusalem other action is being taken to import Arabs and build housing units for the poor from Judea and Samaria in order to harm the demographic balance in Israel’s capital.
“Money buys consciousness”, he said, noting that “In 2018, the U.S. embassy was moved to Jerusalem, which caused tension and demonstrations in Gaza. That same year, Peace Now published 11 advertisements on the topic. In contrast, in 2021, Peace Now wrote more than 210 advertisements on Jerusalem. We checked the financial reports and saw that during that period, a quarter of a million shekels were transferred to Peace Now for activities concerning Jerusalem. It turns out that Jerusalem is interesting when there is money earmarked for her. As with Peace Now, other leftist organizations also receive money to turn Jerusalem into an international issue”.
“The incident in Shimon Hatzadik could have ended as a dispute between neighbors to be resolved in court, but the issue became contentious because of the funded campaign”, says Peleg, noting that over the years, a sum of about a billion shekels has been transferred to leftist and radical leftist organizations. “The countries of the European Union oppose the idea of nation-states, so it is easy to raise funds there for campaigns such as the Hadata campaign, which aims to erode the Jewish national character of Israel, despite the fact that there is no reason for the budget of the Hadata campaign to come from monies of a party in Bodenstag, Germany. What is their interest in this?”, he asks.
It is in this spirit that they fund campaigns against expelling infiltrators, despite that they are smugglers for all intents and purposes. Peleg says that the government of Switzerland made a deal with Rwanda to deal with infiltrators from Eritrea so that the infiltrators would be accepted there, but it did this one month after it had joined in funding a campaign to cancel the agreement between Israel and Rwanda to absorb infiltrators coming to Israel.
It is the same with absorbing refugees from Ukraine. The European Union offered residency of three years to every Ukrainian but leftist organizations worked to bring them to Israel, by labeling the country as a country of refugees, that cannot allow itself any form of racism.
In such a situation, explains Peleg, the job of the youth is dramatic, since it is knowledgeable about social networks and alternative media, and can lead the struggle for consciousness and belief in the justice of the cause. To this end, he suggested finding ways and opportunities to speak about the idea of sovereignty with various people, identify manipulative techniques in the ideological dialog and sharpen their skill in responding, by being familiar with the three principles of debate theory: to know what you want to say, how to say it and to repeat it. To that end, says Peleg, the youth must “read articles, take notes, read again, write articles, send them to friends in the networks and practice the skill of discourse. Israel will not exist without belief in the justice of our cause”, he stated.
