The Sovereignty Youth opened an information booth in the heart of Tel Aviv for the 'Eastward Ho!' project, which promises a significant reduction in housing prices in Tel Aviv following massive construction in Judea and Samaria.
The Sovereignty Youth opened a booth in Tel Aviv continuing the campaign calling for lowering the cost of housing in Tel Aviv through massive building in Judea and Samaria.
In an interview with Arutz 7, one of the members, Itamar Yom Tov, explains the goal of the campaign.
“We are in the center of Tel Aviv and we opened a booth in order to explain to people how to lower the cost of housing in Tel Aviv so that it will cost NIS 1,700,000 for an apartment in Tel Aviv”.
“It all depends on supply and demand. When there is too much demand and not enough supply, as is the case in Tel Aviv and Gush Dan, prices rise.
According to research that our Sovereignty Movement conducted, if, within five years there is massive building in Judea and Samaria of 24 thousand housing units every year, we will get to the situation where housing costs in the center will be reduced by 20%”, he explains.
To the question of whether the Tel Aviv public is listening to this, Yom Tov answers, “when people hear about the economic aspect, they are willing to hear more, when there is no talk of the economic aspect, they are less interested”.
“We expect members of Knesset in the national camp to understand the great value of building in Judea and Samaria and how much impact it will have on reducing the prices in the center.
If our public representatives understand this – prices will go down”, he adds.
According to him, “Building starts in Judea and Samaria are negligible compared to what is happening in the rest of the country. Tel Aviv couples who want to buy an apartment at a low price in the center of Tel Aviv must support massive building in Judea and Samaria in order to bring down the cost of housing”.
