Greetings, dear friends,
We have had a week chock full of reports and photographs from the United Emirates, and the subject of sovereignty was also included in the discussions on the agreement. Journalists and reporters raised the issue of sovereignty in interviews and reports on the visit of the Israeli-American delegation to the United Emirates, which is further proof of the revolution in consciousness that has occurred in recent years.
While, in the recent past, journalists were sure to ask in every political conversation about Israeli withdrawals and concessions, the Arab position and the idea of two states, now, the media and its representatives challenge the Israeli leadership with the vision of sovereignty and their commitment and declarations that we have been hearing until very recently about implementing the vision.
However, it is certainly disappointing to note Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s decision to remove, or at least delay for some undefined amount of time, the implementation of the first steps toward sovereignty. The People of Israel expects different conduct from a truly right-wing, nationalist leadership.
It is worth noting the remarks of the person who is responsible for policy planning in the United Emirates Ministry of Foreign Affairs at the Israeli press briefing, that “Even if sovereignty is advanced, the peace plan with Israel will not be stopped”. In the United Emirates, things are not said without coordination with the leadership and when things are said by a senior official who was sent to speak with the Israeli media, the remarks are an indication of the mood of the leadership there.
Although a senior Emirati official spoke of an American promise to freeze the advancement of sovereignty, it can be assumed that this promise is based on messages from the Prime Minister, so it again turns out that Israel is the source of declarations of this sort.
Again, it seems that the Prime Minister could act to promote the much-needed Zionist vision, the vision of sovereignty. Senior officials in the Emirates also do not see it as a hindrance to the political process that they are taking part in.
All senior members of the Likud and the national camp, whether in the Knesset or not, must continue to exert pressure on the Prime Minister to keep his promise to the Israeli public to apply sovereignty in Judea and Samaria.
Even among the Likud elite, they know quite well that promises not kept time after time make a leader appear unreliable.
We repeat once again that true sovereignty is not a political bargaining chip. True sovereignty is a process that is based on the Zionist vision and principles of the Jewish People; the true sovereignty desired by the national camp is sovereignty that is not bound up with the establishment of an alien state in the heart of our homeland, Heaven forbid.
Proving Leadership
We encourage senior members of the Likud, who make it clear that they will not allow the vision to slip through the political window of opportunity that has opened to Israel. The senior figures say these things despite the chance that they will be perceived as opposing Netanyahu’s own position.
Head of the Coalition, Member of Knesset Miki Zohar remarked that it is necessary “to apply sovereignty now, even before the elections in the U.S. The important and encouraging statements by senior officials in the Emirates that the application of Israeli sovereignty over part of Judea and Samaria will not harm the peace agreement can enable us to implement what we promised to the public in recent years”.
Minister of Health Yoel (Yuli) Edelstein stated that “cooperation between states is important but there is no reason in the world that it should come at the expense of the application of sovereignty”.
Minister for Regional Cooperation Ofir Akunis declared: “I will continue to promote, with all my strength, the application of sovereignty, which is an unstoppable, historic process”.
Committed to the vision
This week, representatives of Sovereignty Youth visited the office of Health Minister Yoel Yuli Edelstein, who, despite his continually being engaged with the challenges of the Corona virus and opening the school year, found the time to discuss the vision of sovereignty, his personal commitment to the idea and the activities of the movement’s members.
Minister Edelstein expressed appreciation for the activity and the activists, even labeling his fb page picture with the representative of the movement, writing “Always happy to meet youths with the values of Zionist settlement like the Sovereignty Youth”.

To me, sovereignty is..
And this time, with Member of Knesset Nir Barkat (Likud):
“To me, sovereignty is the implementation of the historic right of the People of Israel in the Land of Israel, the basis of the State of Israel’s rule over the settlement enterprise in Judea and Samaria, and assuring that appropriate infrastructures are provided to all of her citizens”.

The Civil Administration and us, what, exactly is the problem?
The Civil Administration’s existence and its conduct are, to many people, one of the most significant manifestations of the violation of civil rights for almost half a million citizens of Israel, due to the absence of sovereignty. In order to understand the source of the Administration’s problematic conduct, how it happens that its people thwart the processes of acquiring and holding lands in Judea and Samaria and why, under their responsibility, the Arab takeover of more and more land is allowed, we held an interview with the former Deputy Defense Minister Rav Eli ben Dahan, who, among other his other responsibilities as deputy minister, was also responsible for the Administration.
Rav ben Dahan explains that the root of the problem in the Administration’s conduct is its very existence and the way in which it was established, but from that point, it only gets worse.
