In a meeting with Sovereignty Youth, Health Minister Yuli Edelstein praised the movement’s activity on behalf of the promotion of Israeli sovereignty in Judea and Samaria and expressed his continued commitment to the vision and its implementation.
In the midst of the of the turbulent battle against the Corona virus, Minister of Health Yoel (Yuli) Edelstein devoted time (on Monday, August 31st) to meeting with representatives of the Sovereignty Youth Movement, during which the issue of sovereignty in Judea and Samaria arose against the background of the political steps being undertaken with the United Emirates.
Representatives of the movement raised their concern to Minister Edelstein about the return to discussions about a Palestinian state and the existential danger to the future of Israel posed by the possibility of establishing such a state, besides the violation to the principle of the People of Israel’s right to its Land.
Minister Edelstein expressed understanding for the youths’ concern over delaying the implementation of the sovereignty plan and stated that he himself feels committed to implement the vision in the future. Edelstein was interested in the activity of the Sovereignty Youth Movement and representatives of the movement told him about the extensive hasbara activities and that are carried out by the movement and about the Zoom meetings that have been held throughout the Corona period with leading public and political figures. They also presented bullet points regarding the movement’s plans for the future.
During the meeting, the representatives of the movement presented the Health Minister with a symbolic gift of a relief map of the Land of Israel and expressed appreciation for his many years of activity in promoting the vision of sovereignty. The Sovereignty Movement notes that Minister Edelstein was a partner in Sovereignty conferences from the movement’s first steps. The youths and the minister agreed on future cooperation. “Neither Corona nor anything else should stop the important activity fon behalf of our sovereignty in Judea and Samaria”, said the minister, who praised the movement’s extensive activities.
The Sovereignty Movement notes that the fact that Minister Edelstein has found it correct to make time for such a meeting, during such turbulent days, both in the health sphere and the political sphere, proves the importance with which he views the implementation of the vision of sovereignty. The movement promises to continue to act in the political sphere and to exert public pressure to implement the vision of sovereignty independent of any connection to the Trump plan, which links sovereignty to the establishment of a Palestinian state in the heart of the Land.
