Representatives of the Sovereignty Youth Movement presented Likud ministers and the Speaker of the Knesset with certificates of appreciation for their letter urging the Prime Minister to immediately apply sovereignty over Judea and Samaria.
Representatives of the Sovereignty Youth Movement visited the Knesset on Monday, July 8, where they awarded certificates of appreciation to Likud ministers and the Knesset Speaker following their call for the immediate application of Israeli sovereignty over Judea and Samaria.
The representatives met with the ministers in their offices and presented them, on behalf of the youth and the entire Sovereignty Movement, with certificates under the title "We Just Wanted to Say Thank You."
As a reminder, ahead of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s visit to the White House, all Likud ministers and Knesset Speaker MK Amir Ohana signed a letter initiated by the Yesha Council. The letter stated that the time had come to approve in the government a decision to apply sovereignty before the end of the Knesset’s summer session.
“After the historic achievements of the State of Israel under the leadership of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu against the axis of evil led by Iran and its proxies, it is time to complete the task and remove the existential threat from within, and prevent another massacre in the heart of the country,” wrote the ministers. They added that “the October 7th massacre proved that the doctrine of settlement blocs and the establishment of a Palestinian state in the remaining territory is an existential threat to Israel. The time has come for sovereignty,” they wrote to Netanyahu. For this clear statement, they were presented with the certificate of thanks and appreciation.
The certificate reads: “We just wanted to say thank you for your courage, determination, and clear public support for the application of sovereignty. Your letter to the Prime Minister gave us, as youth working for the application of sovereignty, a sense of hope and partnership. The leadership you have shown strengthens us to continue working in the field, to speak up, influence, and do it in a big way.”
The meetings with the Likud ministers and Knesset Speaker were initiated by Hillel Suissa Bareli, head of the Sovereignty Youth Movement, who joined the visits to the ministers’ and speaker’s offices. She expressed great satisfaction with the meetings, saying the ministers received the certificate with great joy and, in conversations with the youth representatives, gave them a strong sense of partnership and commitment to continue working for sovereignty.
It is worth noting that the ministers who signed the letter to the Prime Minister alongside the Knesset Speaker include: Yariv Levin, Israel Katz, Yoav Kisch, Miri Regev, Eli Cohen, Miki Zohar, Nir Barkat, Avi Dichter, Haim Katz, Gila Gamliel, Amichai Chikli, Idit Silman, May Golan, and Dudi Amsalem.
Suissa Bareli added that, in addition to the ministers who received the certificate, the youth representatives also met several other Knesset members who encouraged their educational and public efforts, which are creating a powerful wave of Zionist, ethical, Jewish, moral, and just awareness.
Yehudit Katsover and Nadia Matar, leaders of the Sovereignty Movement, also congratulated the Likud ministers who signed the letter to the Prime Minister, stating that it is time to turn declarations and promises into real actions. “Sovereignty is an expression of historical justice and the realization of our historic right to the Land of Israel. But after the October 7 massacre, its security value is also obvious to any rational person—it’s a step that would block dangerous terrorist organization in the hills of Judea and Samaria, whose declared goal for years has been the destruction of Israel. Sovereignty is a necessity for the survival of the State of Israel. The youth understand this and express the will and sentiment of the vast majority of the people of Israel through their activism.”
They further noted: “Sovereignty can be applied through a government or Knesset decision, and at this time, the leadership must follow up military achievements in Iran, Syria, and Gaza with a decisive political move that will ensure Israeli and regional stability—the move of sovereignty.”
