Just Before the Elections: A Televised Sovereignty Campaign

“The Sovereignty Minute” is the title of a new campaign led by the Sovereignty Movement in partnership with Channel 14, aimed at bringing the issue of sovereignty back to the center of Israeli public discourse ahead of the approaching Election Day.

Ahead of the upcoming elections, the Sovereignty Movement, in partnership with Channel 14, has launched a televised campaign titled “The Sovereignty Minute.” The campaign will feature a series of short videos that will air on the channel in the coming days and weeks, focusing on the meaning of sovereignty and the importance of applying it.

The campaign videos will be presented by Channel 14’s settlement affairs correspondent, Eliya Aviv, and will address a range of issues related to sovereignty in Judea and Samaria, including security, housing, the economy, and more.

In the first video, Aviv explains the meaning of sovereignty as an expression of national independence, and examines the destructive consequences of the absence of Israeli sovereignty in Judea and Samaria since the Six-Day War.

These consequences include, among other things, the strengthening of the Arab hope of ultimately defeating Israel and the creation of a practical infrastructure for the establishment of an Arab terror state in the heart of Israel. This infrastructure includes the paving of roads, the establishment of communities and institutions, and the development of Arab police and military capabilities, among other elements.

Aviv now concludes the first installment of the sovereignty video series with a question that remains hanging in the air:

Who will be the first to declare sovereignty over the Land of the Bible – the State of Israel or Hamas?

The Sovereignty Movement explains its decision to launch a major campaign for the application of sovereignty specifically at this time:

“Israel is approaching dramatic and critical elections that will have far-reaching consequences for the future, existence and security of the State of Israel. The October 7 massacre left the Jewish people with unimaginable pain, alongside a profound understanding of the existential danger posed by the establishment of a terror state in the heart of our country.

“And yet, nearly three years after the massacre, there are those once again promoting dangerous political ideas of this kind, under deceptive ‘cover names’ such as autonomy, a ‘state-minus,’ a gradual diplomatic process, moderate Palestinian leadership, and the like.

“All of these concepts conceal plans that could have catastrophic consequences for Israel’s existence. Against them, the national camp must put forward an organized, clear, realistic and thoroughly Zionist plan – one that recognizes reality and is committed to applying Israeli sovereignty throughout Judea and Samaria.”

Sovereignty Movement leaders Yehudit Katsover and Nadia Matar emphasize:

«“The overwhelming majority of the Israeli people are deeply connected to their homeland and understand the profound bond of identity they have with it. At the same time, they clearly understand the danger inherent in the idea of a Palestinian state.

“These national and identity-based sentiments are also recognized by the Israeli left, which is why they seek to conceal their intentions through various formulations and convoluted language.

“In order to place the clear and undeniable truth before the Israeli public, to warn against the re-emerging vision of the left, and to make clear the importance of applying sovereignty, we decided to launch this joint campaign together with Channel 14.”

The Sovereignty Movement notes that the televised campaign is part of a broader public-awareness effort aimed at sharpening the demand that Israel’s national leadership present the vision of sovereignty as a coherent political program to the Israeli public – and one that can fulfill the Zionist dream and vision of the Jewish people.
