12-03-2021

 Dear friends,
Shalom, greetings and wishes for a good month.

With the entry of Israel’s month of redemption, the month of Nisan, we will all pray and hope together for the People of Israel that this month, we will all see new and additional steps toward redemption, liberation, freedom and sovereignty.

The Camp of Eighty

We were delighted to see more and more members of Knesset and candidates for Knesset in the Rightwing camp, making note of “the magic number”, the eighty mandates that reflect the will of the People for a nationalist, right-wing leadership.

We note that this number began here, on the stage of the Sovereignty Movement, when we began to speak about it in interviews and speeches.

It seems that this basic data point is being inculcated into our consciousness, and since it is clear that the People has a healthy world view, imbued with faith in its Jewish, national identity, the task for the leaders of the camp is to internalize the desired political implications of this data point and to assure that this democratic-public majority is expressed in the Knesset of Israel and the government of Israel.

We again call on the leaders to leave behind any personal grudges, and not be influenced by tension and negative feelings from the past; they should demonstrate their leadership by forming a broad and stable right-wing government.

It is legitimate to demand firm guidelines, it is also legitimate to strive for the position of prime minister, but after the elections we must re-examine the data and act, in the interest of Israel, to form a right-wing government, which preserves the Jewish identity of the State of Israel.

You have risen to your position for a time like this

Sovereignty is not off the table

Read the words by Israeli ambassador in Washington, Yoram Ettinger, who states and proves that the next Israeli government is not prevented from applying sovereignty in Judea and Samaria, not even following a promise that maybe was given as part of the Abraham Accords.

Taking a close look

This week, together with Gush Etzion Council, we hosted the Minister of Settlement, Tsahi Hanegbi at the Ari Fuld observation point in Oz veGaon that overlooks the area of Gush Etzion.

During the meeting, special emphasis was placed on the ongoing battle against takeover of state lands by the area’s Arabs, as part of a synchronized, organized and well-funded plan by the Palestinian Authority to determine facts on the ground.

Minister Hanegbi expressed his commitment to strengthen the Jewish settlement enterprise in the area and in Judea and Samaria in general.

And even if it seems that the political hour, just before elections, may not allow for the advancement of an orderly sovereignty plan in the political sphere, the government of Israel is still obligated to promote Israel’s practical sovereignty in the area, to fight the ever-increasing hostile trends and to strengthen settlement and Jewish holdings in Judea and Samaria. We must not abandon the scene to a unilateral process.

It is not necessary to wait for agreement with America or anyone else; there is no need to wait for the next government to be formed. Israel’s government is obligated to act resolutely, assertively and immediately. Every day that passes without taking steps toward Israeli sovereignty in the area will result in years of sorrow in the future.

We must not wait. We must act immediately

In keeping with this spirit, we encourage our friends in the Regavim movement, which brought the difficult situation in the field to the attention of the public, in a Makor Rishon conference this week.

The movement’s people did well by knowing how to take advantage of the right political time, during elections, to present the gloomy and painful sight to the elected representatives, opinion shapers, and general public in Israel.

The Arab weapon of today is the bulldozer and concrete mixer, stated Regavim, presenting before the participants and viewers of the conference maps, aerial photographs and hard data, to demonstrate the situation in the field.

In order to amend the situation in the field and bring about a revolution in the field, we urgently need a unified broad-based right-wing government with an ideological backbone, which views the Arab erosion of our sovereignty as a challenge to face and overcome.

The need becomes clearer and stronger in light of the remarks by the head of the Avoda party, Member of Knesset Meirav Michaeli, that we should stop budgeting the communities outside of the blocs of settlement in Judea and Samaria.

The result of this grave position would signal a death blow to the communities and those who live in them.

We must confront these positions and act resolutely as a right-wing, strong ideological, political bloc and not even consider joining with a party whose leader holds such views.

Order of the hour

We refer you here to the clear remarks of the head of the Yamina faction, Member of Knesset Ayelet Shaked, regarding the obligation to promote the application of sovereignty now.

“When the law for Alon Shvut is identical to the law for Tel Aviv and Givatayim, a Palestinian state cannot arise between the sea and the Jordan River. The application of sovereignty will cut off the dangerous fantasy of establishing a Hamas state 15 minutes from Tel Aviv”, writes Shaked in an article published in the newspaper Besheva. You can read her remarks here, at the Sovereignty website.

In memory of Jacques

As representatives and emissaries of the Sovereignty Movement we were invited this week to speak before participants of the monthly meeting in the home of Atty. Nili Nahouri-Kupfer in memory of her late father, Jacques Kupfer, who passed away about two months ago.

At the gathering, we spoke (to an audience of French-speaking olim) of the vision of sovereignty and its ramifications to the future of the State of Israel and its security and the realization of the Zionist vision.

In addition, Yehudit spoke to the audience and participants about the operation of entering Beit Hadassah in Hevron, in which she participated, an operation that serves as a symbol and example of the legacy of settlement in Judea and Samaria.

He will arise like a lion

Here, we would like to offer blessings and congratulations to the family of our dear friend, Ari Fuld, hy"d, one of the greatest supporters and activists in the Sovereignty Movement, who was murdered at the Gush Etzion Junction as he fought with a terrorist, on the occasion of the circumcision  of his grandson, Ari Oz, the son of Tamar Bizli, Ari’s daughter.

In the spirit of the newborn’s name and in the spirit of his grandfather’s sacrifice, we are all filled with pride and national power.

Therefore, our people will rise like a lion and like a lion will rise to continue treading the path of redemption.
