The Sovereignty Movement commends the members of the Land of Israel Caucus for advancing legislation that would complicate diplomatic moves involving territorial withdrawals from Judea and Samaria.
The Sovereignty Movement extends its congratulations to the leaders and members of the Land of Israel Caucus for promoting the bill to apply the Referendum Law to all areas of Judea and Samaria and Israel's territorial waters.
The movement views this legislation, which would require a majority of 80 Knesset members for any political agreement involving the transfer of land to foreign sovereignty, as a reflection of a deep societal awakening in Israel. This awakening recognizes the existential danger inherent in territorial withdrawals and the transfer of land to foreign sovereignty.
"The time that has passed since the morning of October 7—the genocidal massacre perpetrated by Hamas terrorists against our brothers and sisters, and the war that has been imposed on us since that day—has significantly proved the existential and security risks posed by ceding land in the heart of the country to a foreign entity, especially one that seeks Israel's destruction in every possible way. This proposed legislation, led by our friends in the Land of Israel Caucus, is a necessary measure to prevent political errors that could, God forbid, result in massacres far more severe than that of October 7, this time in the heart of the country, with advanced weaponry and state-level capabilities," said Yehudit Katsover and Nadia Matar, leaders of the Sovereignty Movement".
However, the movement also emphasizes that a comprehensive response, one that will entirely prevent any possibility of any future withdrawals and erase once and for all any Arab aspirations to establish a Palestinian state on the ruins of Israel, lies in a full application of Israeli sovereignty over the entire territory.
The movement expresses hope and faith that this current legislative step will mark the beginning of a broader legislative-political process to fulfill the age-old dream and aspirations of the Jewish people: the application of full sovereignty over their birthplace
and their one and only homeland.
